Stormstock: Oh Happy Day*

Andy & Renee photo

Andy Hill & Renee Safier and the Hard Rain Band

During a time of social unrest, there was Woodstock 1969. Great minds of the music world met and shaped the future of American culture. This timeless music, 48 years later, still makes us cut loose and dance. July 15, 2017 was a gorgeous evening on the Peninsula—the perfect time and place to recreate that era with a picnic on the lawn and the music of Andy & Renee and the Hard Rain Band.

Donna Day is a Video Star!

Donna Day thumbnailAt age 12, Donna Day fell in love with Beethoven at summer camp, and classical music became a source of joy and inspiration throughout her life.  Listen in as Donna shares her dream to leave a legacy so the experience she had as a youngster is available — forever, for everyone.

Click here to view Donna’s two minute video on the LA Phil’s website.

This video beautifully answers the question “Why We Give.”  Donna and Alanna Kennedy are PCLAP’s Legacy Liaison Co-Chairs.  They can help answer questions about the LA Phil’s Planned Giving program, and put you in touch with staff members who will suggest flexible options for your own estate planning.

As Paula Del Vicario passed the torch to incoming President Marian Hall, we remembered the many successes of Paula’s leadership at the helm of the Peninsula Committee.  Thank you Paula for two-in-a-row outstanding years.

Marian Hall recognized the rich legacy that spans our 65 years since we were founded in 1952.  Through the decades, we have been resilient and adapted to change, while keeping the best of what we do.  As we tackle the challenges of the next era, Marian invited us to be part of the team that sets the vision for our future.  Save the date for an All Member meeting on March 29 at the Point Vicente Interpretive Center.  We need your ideas!

A hearty “thank you” to freelance writer Meredith Grenier for attending our Fanfare for Fall event held at the Palos Verdes Golf Club on November 6.  She has a knack for vividly capturing delightful tidbits from the performance along with quips from audience members, while emphasizing our fundraising goals of supporting the LA Philharmonic Orchestra and youth music programs in our community.  Enjoy the full text of Meredith’s article posted in the “Daily Breeze” on December 4, 2016.
