Thanks to Marian Duntley, Judy Sannes and Karen Tozer, eight Peninsula Committee members won a tour of the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) at this year’s Grand Salon.  The tour was held on Friday, September 5, followed by lunch at Panini Grill.

The day started with an overview of the history of FIDM and its current curriculum offerings presented by Lanie Denslow, FIDM’s International Director.  The tour included of many of FIDM’s collections and facilities.  PCLAP members also were able to see the current Annual Outstanding Art of Television Costume Design and shop at several of the FIDM stores.

Sadly this was our last FIDM tour since Lanie will be leaving at the end of the year to pursue other interests.  The good news is that she will lead PCLAP members in a workshop on international protocol and customs on November 15.  Mark the date on your calendars — details will be provided later.
