September Salon Supplemental

We would like to recognize two additional guests who attended the Salon, and thank all who greeted them with a warm welcome:
Cheryl Litrenta, guest of Phyllis Sherwood
Kristin Hetzer, guest of Linda Gassett

Also, please enjoy this video of Andrew performing Koryo, his own composition, at the Salon.  Thanks to his father for recording the performance, and to Andrew for sharing it with us.

The September Salon: A Sylvan Delight

Barbara.

Barbara.

Barbara Hart welcomed us to her hacienda for an end-of-summer garden Salon—a sylvan delight.  Barbara’s home brims with life-affirming treasures collected from around the world that mirror her beautiful spirit.  Thank you Barbara!

We reconnected with each other after the summer hiatus, and welcomed several guests who we hope may join us as new members next year.    We appreciate the vitality and growth that these wonderful women can bring.  We also distributed packets for the Fanfare for Fall gala on October 27 at PV Country Club.   Please sign up and spread the word among your friends and neighbors.

Andrew Moses, clarinet, and Yoshika Masuda, cello

Andrew Moses, clarinet, and Yoshika Masuda, cello

Fourteen year-old Andrew Moses, clarinet, and Yoshika Masuda, cello, performed selections by Beethoven, Bach, Jerome Rosen, Svante Henryson, and Andrew Moses (yes, his own composition!).  Thank you Darlene Vlasek and Tricia Paulsen, Programs, for this musical treat.

These young “artists to watch” impressed us with their skill, but also with their poise and relaxed relationship with the audience.  As the warm sun became hot and the sheet music wafted away on gentle breezes, they kept a playful composure, while Darlene deftly retrieved the flying pages.  You can watch sample performances, not from this Salon, by clicking here for Andrew and clicking here for Yoshika.

Now, sit back and enjoy these happy memories of the day.

Ahh. A shady spot, and the coats are off for a final bow.
